Commercial millwork · Hudson Valley

The detail you drew, delivered as drawn.

TCS Woodworking is a custom woodwork shop in the Hudson Valley. We build custom cabinetry, fine millwork and bespoke furniture for the Northeast — recently, offices and institutions across the Hudson Valley and residences on Nantucket. We detail, fabricate and finish under one roof; delivery and installation are coordinated per project.

We build from your set. Every job is detailed in-house before a part is machined — field conditions verified, conflicts flagged back to you — and built in our own shop to that detail.

Your drawing is where ours begins. Every cut file and build PDF traces back to the approved set.

What we build

Cabinets and millwork, built to the elevation.

Millwork that carries a room's language — reception desks, boardroom walls, built-ins and paneling — built to veneer-core plywood, top of the line, and to the wear of a real business, not the photo-shoot version. Pre-built, or flat-packed on request.

01

Reception desks and lobbies

The first piece a visitor meets, built to your elevation with the stone, glass and lighting it has to receive.

02

Boardroom and conference walls

Paneled media walls and millwork that read as one elevation across the full wall.

03

Office built-ins

Credenzas, storage walls and fitted casework, detailed to field-verified dimensions.

04

Paneling and feature walls

Shiplap, V-groove, slat and flat paneling, machine-cut and finished in our own booth.

05

Banquettes, fixtures and casework

Restaurant banquettes, retail fixtures and conference tables, built for daily use.

06

Interior and pocket doors

Custom interior and pocket doors, profiled to match the millwork.

07

Moldings and millwork

Custom and standard trim, casings and profiles, drawn or matched.

Range

White oak, cherry, maple, poplar, Medex. Paint-grade to natural finishes; exotic species on request.

Build method

Assembled millwork: plywood boxes, pre-finished maple interiors, face frames to your detail. We can also flat-pack — programmed sizing, per-cabinet build PDFs, four-way pallets — and coordinate shipping to suit the project.

Grade and joinery

Veneer-core plywood, top of the line. Frameless boxes with applied face frames; inset or overlay fronts as specified, soft-close hardware. Haunched beaded frames on request.

Self-perform vs. coordinate

We detail, fabricate and finish in-house. Delivery is coordinated per project; installation is available on request through our contractors, or the builder's crew sets it from labeled parts.

How we work

Five stages. One detailer. Nothing cut before sign-off.

Every job runs the same documented path, so you always know where your design stands and what protects the detail at each step.

01

Discovery

What you get

A priced proposal within five business days of receiving your drawings.

Before you commit

Scope is priced before anyone commits time. No work starts without the design deposit: 10% of job cost, capped at $1,500 ($5,000 on jobs over $100,000) — applied to the total.

02

Design

What you get

Your architectural set, coordinated and field-verified — discrepancies flagged back to you, not quietly resolved — then elevations, sections, plans and shop drawings, issued with the 30% invoice.

Where change stops

Two redline reviews, then the design locks. A change caught at submittal costs a drawing revision; in the field it costs a cabinet.

03

Sourcing

What you get

Confirmation that your specified material is on the floor, and a fabrication start date.

Long-lead cover

Long-lead items are identified and ordered against the locked set, not a moving target — so you hear "four weeks" or "we start tomorrow" while it still matters.

04

Production

What we do

The approved drawing converts to cut files and production begins: a build PDF and reference photo per cabinet, assembly, finishing and QC.

Nothing sorted on site

Parts are cut to programmed sizes and labeled Project → Room → Wall → Run, matched to the elevation, so nothing is sorted out on site.

05

Delivery

What you get

Bench photos of every run, checked against the elevation, a sign-off against them, then the finished package. The 85% invoice follows that sign-off.

A clean set

Everything moves at once, staged in install order. Delivery is coordinated per project within roughly 150 miles; installation is available on request through our contractors, or the builder's crew sets it from labeled parts.

Single point of contact

One point of contact from submittal to final set, so a question about the detail always reaches the people building it.

The basics

The unglamorous parts, covered.

Insurance

Fully insured. Certificate of insurance available on request.

Payment

Design deposit, then to 30% when the shop drawings are issued, to 85% when production is complete in the shop and verified by bench photos, and the balance on delivery. Packages over $100,000 are put on a schedule worked out with the client.

Warranty

Work warranted free from defects in workmanship for one year from delivery, per our services agreement. Excludes normal wear, misuse, and improper installation or modification by others.

Pickup and delivery

Shop pickup is standard, and most clients collect. We coordinate delivery within roughly 150 miles; beyond that, by arrangement.

Change orders

Signed change document, altered drawing, agreed fee, and timeline stated up front. Two redline reviews at design; changes after the design locks carry a fee.

Why the work comes back

The piece that arrives is the piece on the approved drawing. The detail survives fabrication, with one point of contact from first line to final scribe.

Most of our work is repeat work — the same builders, season after season.

Next step

Send us your next set of drawings.

Five business days after they reach us, you will have a priced proposal: scope, timeline, inclusions and exclusions, in the same format every time. Then shop drawings built from your set — field-verified, discrepancies flagged back, nothing changed without a conversation.
